DigiPen Named a Top Game Design School in 2026 Princeton Review Rankings

For the 17th consecutive year, DigiPen has been recognized by The Princeton Review among the top game design schools. In the 2026 rankings, DigiPen is placed No. 6 among undergraduate programs (up from No. 11 last year) and No. 12 among graduate programs.

The rankings are based on a 2025 survey of more than 150 institutions offering game design programs across North America and internationally, drawing on responses to more than 40 questions covering faculty, facilities, technology, academics, graduate outcomes, and career data.

At DigiPen Europe-Bilbao, students have earned recognition across international competitions and festivals, with 23 games published on Steam.

Recent highlights include the short film Al Otro Lado being selected for the 15th CHILEMONOS International Animation Festival in Chile — a qualifying festival for both the Goya and Academy Awards — as well as the 21st Athens ANIMFEST, alongside Flicker and Fishy.

On the games side, Numbra has accumulated over 226,000 Steam library additions and earned a "Very Positive" rating from players, receiving 7 competitive recognitions in 2025, including Best Video Game Project at Weird Market (RTVE Award), Best Basque Game at Game Erauntsia Sariak, and a Rookie Awards finalist nomination for Game of the Year.

Across film festivals and game showcases worldwide, students and alumni at DigiPen Europe-Bilbao have accumulated over 455 competition laurels.

DigiPen Europe-Bilbao is part of DigiPen's international campus network and offers degree programs based on the institution's established curriculum in game development and interactive media.
